| How To Be Awake, Aware & Alive
|
You know how it feels when somebody is too close to your body? We call that "being in your space." What exactly is that space that surrounds you, that you feel like it belongs to you...and call it "my" space?
It's you. The life and light that animates and enlivens your body and mind are actually electromagnetic and thermal energy that emanate out from your body into the space around you. That energy is also your awareness, which is why you know when someone's too close.
As Eckhart Tolle suggests in A New Earth, your true self, who you really are, is that awareness, that life and that light that is flowing through your body right now and every minute of every day.
There is tremendous relief, and a feeling of freedom in knowing that you are not just this physical and emotional organism and personality with all of its issues and insecurities. In Tolle's words, "You don't have a life, you are life." You are the life, the energy, the consciousness that flows through your body and mind and keeps you alive. Being aware of this on an ongoing basis is the key to being fully awake alive and present.
The life and light energy that flows through you and is you is eternal and indestructible. It is also your spirit, and your source of joy, peace and well being. Relax and enjoy being fully awake, aware and alive.
