| Say Good Stuff To Yourself

You're
always talking to yourself, whether you realize it or not...so why not make it a great conversation? One question to ask yourself is, "Who's talking?" It's either:
- Fear - which uses your "small brain" and tells you scary stories about what's wrong with you and the world.
- Intelligent Optimism - which uses your whole brain, and tells you stories of positive possibilities that lift
your spirits and soothe your heart.
So, what kind of stories are you telling yourself? If your heart is light and your spirit soars, then your self talk is working well for you. Being a Goodfinder means telling yourself stories of gratitude, appreciation and
optimism about you and your world. Some more skills that are helpful in saying good stuff to yourself:
- Be an encourager to yourself. Life can often be challenging, but when you encourage yourself along the way, it actually gets easier as time goes on.
- Practice the "I love" technique. This is simple. Just make a mental note to focus on what you love in yourself, your environment, and the
good folks around you. Make this one of your Goodfinding journaling skills.
Positive self talk is like being your own best friend. As a good friend to yourself, you don't overlook shortcomings, you just don't dwell on them. You notice them, move on, and focus primarily on
what's good, right and working!
