| Re-Inspire Yourself Daily
|
One of the most important things you can do for yourself is to develop and renew your vision for your day, your week ahead, and your life. Consider that if you don't know where
you're going, you will most likely end up where you don't want to be. Without a clear vision of the outcomes and experiences you choose for yourself, you will operate from habit and (often negative) default processes. Your daily practice of gratitude, appreciation, and optimism is an excellent way to renew and re-inspire your vision and desired outcomes. In the optimism part, you simply think or write "I look forward to feeling good as I go from task to task today. I look forward to enjoying some good exercise today, and eating healthy, nutritious food to fuel my activities. I
look forward to greeting each person I meet with a smile and a friendly greeting." Then picture it happening, and imagine how good it will feel. This is the power of mental rehearsal, which I explain in detail in Goodfinding: A User's Guide to EQ and Your Brilliant
Mind. |
